Safety

Pipe Systems, Inc. is committed to the safety of our employees, customers, overall operations and the general public. By incorporating safety into our overall business outlook and planning, we can be assured that all personnel associated with the operations of Pipe Systems, Inc. will benefit to the fullest.

We consider our safety manual to be our code of conduct. All PSI employees and subcontractors are required to follow this code.

Pipe Systems, Inc. continually works toward our goal of 0 injuries, 0 accidents and 0 incidents by utilizing the following:

  1. A full time safety director.
  2. Daily or weekly job-site Tool Box Safety Talks provided by Safety Meeting Outlines.
  3. Continuous review of current safety performance.
  4. Review and discuss site-specific hazards during jobsite orientations and provide Pre-Task Analysis documentation to address specific project conditions.
  5. Issuance of Safety reprimands and awards.

In addition to the above efforts, we are regularly contracted to perform work utilizing the requirements of the MUST Safety Program including, annual and random drug testing and alcohol screening.

All PSI project managers, project foremen and superintendent remain current with MUST training, drug testing, and are certified by the American Red Cross in First Aid CPR/AED.  They have also completed the OSHA 10 Hour Safety Class and are current with MIOSHA 2-hour asbestos awareness training.  Many have also completed the OSHA 30-Hour Safety Training Course.

All of the above efforts are a direct reflection of our current Experience Modification Rating (EMR) of .68 - with close to 450,000 man-hours worked, our EMR is well below the national average.
